Recognition from the simulation and gaming community

The official ISGC 2026 results name Kunal Oogorah and Business Heroes for the ISAGA Professional Award for Gaming Special Work. The award ceremony took place on 10 October 2026.

Business Heroes represented the United Arab Emirates among eight finalist entries from five countries. The other countries represented were Japan, Germany, Poland and Indonesia.

What the award recognises

ISAGA is the International Simulation and Gaming Association. ISGC is the International Simulation & Gaming Competition, where participants present their games to reviewers and fellow practitioners.

The review is hands-on. Reviewers play the games and consider how well they serve their teaching purpose, alongside playability and creativity. Entrants facilitate play, lead a debrief and answer questions about their work.

The decisions behind the game

In Business Heroes, students manage a virtual food business. They set prices, hire staff, plan marketing and manage cash, then see how those choices affect the business.

Faculty can bring those decisions into classroom discussions, reflections and assignments, giving students a shared experience to analyse.
